9) Color Care (Prevent Damage!)

Color-treated hair is more susceptible to damage than other types of hair, especially if you use heat tools like flat irons or curling wands on a regular basis. When it comes time for a color touch up, take some extra steps—avoid too much heat from your styling tools (set them on low), don’t skip any steps in your haircare routine (cleanser, conditioner), and keep your hair protected with a moisture-rich style cream.

10) Stay Hydrated

When we’re dehydrated, our hair tends to be frizzy and prone to breakage. When we’re well-hydrated, our hair is noticeably softer, shinier, more elastic (it bounces back better), stronger (less breakage) and generally healthier. It’s important that you stay hydrated during all times of day; not just when you feel thirsty. Drink at least a couple glasses of water in between meals for best results!
